To begin, you must direct iWas to the latest backup files for your iOS device. These files have long and complicated names and are stored in an obscure "library" on your computer. Here's how to find them:
MacOS: Click "Browse" and navigate to —
[User's home directory]/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup
Windows 7, 8 or 10: Click "Browse" and navigate to —
These are your backup files. Open the folder you find there (or the newest folder if there are several).
To upload your "Contacts" (required):
To include your phone calls:
To include your text messages (iMessage and SMS):
To include your WhatsApp texts:
To include Gmail, check the Gmail Messages box.
To ensure that calendar events are synchronized to your timezone, select the correct Timezone from the menu.
When all configurations are complete, click "Continue".
You don't need a backup-extractor to find and upload the needed files, but it makes the process a bit more straightforward (or at least plain-English).
Once you have located the backup you want to use for your iWas calendar, extract some or all of the following files to any location on your computer. (You may need to use your backup-extractor's "expert" or "explorer" mode to see the file structure of the backup). Only "Contacts" are required; the others are optional.
Application Domains/group.net.whatsapp.WhatsApp.shared/ ChatStorage.sqlite
Then use the "Browse..." buttons to locate the files you extracted and the "Upload" button to upload them. When all uploads are complete, click "Continue".
